Ars Electronica Futurelab Residency

Squaretangle were awarded an artist in residency at Ars Electronica Futurelab in January/February 2010. The project is a persistent realtime 3D virtual environment with evolving audiovisual performative entities spawned in response to human presence. Using motion capture and tracking, we will interactively perform improvisatory dance and music pieces with the evolving virtual entities. Follow the link for a detailed description.

FMODUnity Plugin

As part of the Connections Residency with Hidden Cove Solutions, we have developed a plugin to allow the FMOD sound design event system to be used within the Unity 3D game development environment. Inter-Arts Connections Residency

SquareTangle were awarded a Connections Residency by the Australia Council Inter-Arts Office for the second half of 2009. We will be artists in residence at Hidden Cove Solutions in Melbourne, Australia. The aim of the 6-month residency is to develop a reliable technical framework for creating live, immersive ‘mixed reality’ performances and installations. Cloud Cabinet

Cloud Cabinet is a set of network-aware, interactive, audiovisual physical sculptures made from glass, aluminium, wood and electronics. Each sculpture creates sound and vision in repsonse to user manipulation, transmitting the changes over wireless network to the other sculptures, all of which respond in kind. This creates a unique meta-artwork that operates at both the local, physical location and in the "cloud" of the internet. Ways To Wave

Ways To Wave was a mixed-reality audiovisual installation involving a physical sculpture made from acrylic, aluminium and electronics, and a virtual interactive audiovisual 'sculpture' in Second Life.
